Folkroom is a live music promoter and occasional record label run by Stephen Rötzsch Thomas since 2010. We have since hosted over 400 gigs and put out around 17 releases. We’ve won Folk Awards, launched festivals, and once put on a gig featuring nothing but ABBA covers. Who says folk can’t be fun?

Modern Folk is our monthly(ish) newsletter that explores what folk music looks like today while also offering us a sneaky chance to share our upcoming gigs with the world. Most of these gigs are in Nottingham, but we still put on events in London and Brighton fairly regularly.
